Matt & Ellie

Matt and Ellie were married at University of Houston Chapel.  AD Bruce Religion Center.  It was a beautiful day and the bride looked amazing.

Salad Bar

The Majestic Metro located in downtown Houston was the venue of choice. The father of the bride made a power point presentation aka slide show of the bride and groom, shown during the arrival of the guest after the ceremony.

The beautiful couple

The vintage look of the Metro made the setting ideal for the couple.  They wanted something non traditional.

The Stone Kitchen provided the catering for the affair.  Professional staff and amazing food.

I contacted a wholesale liquor company that provided the beer, wine and choice alcohol.  They buy back anything that isn't opened so there is no worry of ordering not enough or too much.  Prices were competitive.

This venue has an upstairs that for an additional fee you can use and it has the DJ with about 15 extra tables.  The evening was a huge success.  The bride and groom are Texas A & M graduates and actually met in college.  The evening ended with all the Aggies walking on stage and singing their school song.  It was an amazing ending to their fairy tale day.

I loved, loved, loved working with Ellie and Matt.  It's an honor to be at the start of a love story and be able to contribute to an amazing couple's love story.

Doug & Jenni

I have been blessed to know this bride since her birth.  In fact, I was there at the hospital when she came into this world and I have loved her ever since.  This is my Goddaughter, Jenni.  Her mother has been my best friend, confidant, sister, and muse since I was 14 years old.  It just made sense that I help with her wedding.

Her guest numbered approximately 125 and to stay within budget they decided to have their wedding on Easter Weekend on a Thursday which cut her venue price in half! The venue was beautiful however working with the owners of the venue was a challenge.

Ceremony and Reception held at the same venue

The venue had rooms that accommodated the buffet food, the bar and candy station and the photo booth which kept the guest busy while transforming the ceremony area to a reception area.

Prior to the bride marching in they guest were treated to a powerpoint presentation of the couples love story.  It added such a beautiful personal touch to the ceremony.

The cake was by Lollydoozer and very reasonable, not to mention it taste great!

Centerpieces for tables, venue provided the tabletop candle stand and we provided the flowers

To add height at the beginning of the aisle we added a little color and bling.  Great job Sandi !

I regret to say that I do not have any pictures of the buffet tables that were catered by Everywhim Catering.  Bob Hannusch did a wonderful job with the food, service and budget.  Thank you again Bob for coming through for me!

The groom is from Louisiana and the loved that I tied in the Fleur-de-lis on the candy table.

My gift to the bride and groom was this candy bar.  I found out their favorite candies and made custom baggies for their guest.

One of my favorite photo booth photographers, Nate Messarra made the celebration festive and fun with his props and pictures.  He also sets up a screen in the ballroom and the pictures being taken are being projected for all the guest to see.

Shelby was a bridesmaid and I looked exhausted!!

Sally Vee Photography was amazing to work with.  So much energy and passion for her work.  Every picture captured the energy of the wedding, fun, relaxed, and so much love.

Please keep in mind the last two pictures are not originals but iphone pictures which explain the quality.  The wedding album was a work of art.

The day of the event regardless of how much planning and organizing in the prior months you have worked on, there will always be something that needs to be addressed.  In this instance it was the owners of the venue.  Since the wedding took place on a Thursday the price they set was very low and they were not pleased with how much work they had to do for this wedding.  Regardless of the fact that the owners set the price, wrote the contract, knew the number of guest and the size of the wedding, they behaved horribly. I had to keep chasing them down to unlock doors, unblock the parking for our guest and all around to be nice to the bride and groom.  Throughout the night, all he did was complain to the bride's father and me about how he charged too little for the wedding.

It's things like this you want to make sure does not ruin the happy couple's evening.  I am happy to say that we kept everything running smoothly and I ended up having a "come to Jesus talk" with the owner, I just hope that they don't behave in such a shameful manner on someone else's special day.

This day will forever be in my memories and loved how everyone enjoyed this evening.  DJ Brothers made sure to keep to the schedule and fun for all guest until it was time to leave.  Great job RJ!

Tinker, Planner, Party Maker

It's been a long time coming.  I have always been one to volunteer my time, energy and talents to any and all events, fundraisers, charity, friends and family.  I love a good party.  Not so much attending one, though don't get me wrong, I love to dance from time to time,  but ensuring that everyone is enjoying themselves is my greatest joy.

I have been a stay at home mom which in itself is an oxymoron since the only thing I didn't do while raising my kids was stay at home.  I was heading to PTO meetings, participating in school functions, running to Costco for the teachers lounge, well you get the picture.

Once the children started getting more self sufficient I found myself with more time on my hands.  I joined volunteer programs in my community and our neighborhood bunco group. Yes, I was truly blessed and fortunate to be able to stay home and be so hands on with them.  I don't think they remember a day I wasn't at their school.

That just wasn't enough.  I even volunteered once a month in Dallas at my daughter's school.  So here I am doing what comes very natural to me....planning.

This is just a little bit about me and how I arrived to my new profession.  The next post will highlight one of the weddings I had the pleasure of working.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I will!
